During the planning stage of implant treatment in the edentulous mouth, two different aspects should be considered, namely intraoral and extraoral factors.

1. Extraoral Factors:

  • Smile line
  • Appearance of teeth
  • Facial support

2. Oral Factors:

  • Bone density
  • Distance between jaws
  • Relationship between the jaws
  • Gingiva (gingivitis)
